The Nonprofit Village at 31w31 is a 6,300 square foot coworking space in Midtown Kansas City that is dedicated solely to the needs of nonprofit organizations. The Village is currently accepting tenants and has a scheduled open date of December 1, 2017.
The building at 31 W. 31st Street, just west of Main Street, has been many things since it was built in 1922 – an auto body shop, Venetian Blind dealer, and most recently a storage space for classic cars. Now, it is being transformed into the congregating place for nonprofit organizations making a lasting impact in the Kansas City region.
The Founders of the Nonprofit Village, Jon McGraw and Mehgan Flynn, are very active in the nonprofit community and noticed that a lot of time at critical meetings of small and medium organizations is eaten up by conversations around basic needs – affordable space for offices, meetings and events. The idea behind the Village is to capacity build, meeting the baseline needs of these organizations so they can focus their time and resources on fulfilling their respective missions.
Organizations physically housed in the Nonprofit Village have the convenience of all-inclusive amenities such as furnished offices, high-speed wired and wireless internet access, 24/7 key card access to the space, touch pad locking system on individual offices, full color duplexing copy machine with affordable individually metered accounts, unlimited high-speed scan, unlimited access to conference rooms and event space as available, and storage space.
